Is B&Q opening on Easter 2024? ›

The majority of B&Q stores will be open as usual on Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Monday, but closed on Sunday. However, store opening hours vary across the country, you can check individual stores here.

The majority of Argos stores will be open on Good Friday and Easter Monday, but it is worth checking the details of your local store for exact opening hours. All Argos stores will close on Easter Sunday.

Important dates: In 2024, Easter Sunday falls on March 31st, Good Friday is March 29th and Easter Monday is April 1st. Despite Good Friday and Easter Monday being bank holidays, plenty of shops decide to stay open. However, on Easter Sunday, stores being open depends largely (and legally) on their size.

Most stores are set to open on Good Friday and Easter Saturday between 7am and 10pm. All stores will be closed on Easter Sunday, however, in both England and Wales. When is the next bank holiday? The next bank holiday will be Easter 2024. This year, Easter falls quite early – Good Friday is Friday 29 March and Easter Monday is Monday 1 April.

This year, Easter arrives a bit earlier than usual, landing on Sunday, March 31. While many retailers will be open for business on the holiday, including Walmart and The Home Depot, Lowe's will be closed on Easter this year.

Tesco stores will be open on Easter Monday, but again, larger branches may be operating reduced hours.

For more independent and local garden centres, it's best to check their website or social media pages before visiting over the long weekend. It's likely they will be closed on Easter Sunday with varying hours across the other days.

Sainsbury's, which owns both Argos and Habitat, is also closing all standalone Habitat branches. Back in February this year Sainsbury's revealed it would be closing two Argos depots over the next three years, putting 1,400 jobs at risk.

Most attractions are open over the Easter weekend but make sure to check with individual venues in advance as Good Friday and Easter Monday are both public holidays, and some venues may not open on Easter Sunday.

Are restaurants open on Easter Sunday in the UK? ›

Restaurants will be open as normal. Most large shops will be closed, but small 'local' size supermarkets will be open (by law, shops have to close on Easter Sunday, but smaller shops are usually exempt).

Many national retailers, grocery stores and restaurant chains will be open on Easter Sunday, albeit some with reduced hours. A few companies, like Costco, Target and Aldi, will be closed. This year, Easter falls on Sunday, March 31.

On Good Friday and Saturday, Sainsbury's supermarkets will be open from 8am until 10pm, but some stores may open at 7am. On Easter Sunday, all shops in the UK will be closed, except in Scotland where stores will follow regular Sunday trading hours.

Shoppers will need to be aware of any adjustments if they need last-minute essentials. The majority of Asda shops will be open again today, Easter Monday, between 7am and 10pm. In the UK and under trading rules, larger shops that are over 280 sq meters must closed on Easter Sunday.

Typically, shops stay open for Good Friday and Easter Monday despite them being bank holidays. But you should always check ahead if you can.

On the bank holiday Monday, Sainsbury's larger stores will open from 8am until 8pm while its convenience stores will be open from 7am until either 10pm or 11pm this Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Scottish stores will be open as normal over the entire weekend.
